Day 12: Just a' Swingin'!

At 21 months old our littlest still doesn't talk. She has a few words, but mostly signs or shouts or points - she definitely communicates! So it's amazing to see how she can tie things together even without the verbal response. 

Tonight, to practice sounds with her, I saw the block she was holding and said "You have an S! An S sounds like sssss. S is for Snake. S is for Sit. S is for Swim and for Sister...." I named all these words just to talk, knowing that we were really closer to a year off for her to be able to connect a letter with corresponding words. 

Except we aren't. Because this child was able to connect her FAVORITE activity in the whole world to what I was saying. She looked straight at me, and smiled and SIGNED an S word: Swing.
