Day 4: Respite

The Escapee called home today and managed give me a long-distance respite. The kids passed the phone to each other for about 10 minutes while they scooted and paced around the driveway, narrating every step to him. I sat back with my cool beverage and breathed relief that I didn't have to come up with a response for "I don't have anything to say. I'm walking in rectangles again."

"Daddy, I need to tell you how much Mommy spent today!"

Also, this happened:
Can't you feel the love happening here?

I might have liked this one to go in their imaginary scrapbook, except for the ridiculous "smile" they have taught the baby to assume.
